ENR 5.3 OTHER ACTIVITIES OF A DANGEROUS NATURE AND OTHER POTENTIAL HAZARDS

1 UAS Geographical zones

1.1 General

The Swedish Transport Agency (Transportstyrelsen) may establish UAS geographical zones either by regulation or, in individual cases, by decision.

UAS geographical zones are published in the digital .json format in accordance with standard ED-318 and made publicly available as a downloadable file by LFV at https://dronechart.lfv.se/.

1.2 Restriction or prohibition of unmanned aviation in a UAS geographical zone

A UAS geographical zone may impose prohibitions and various restrictions on unmanned aviation within a designated area.

1.3 Exemption from unmanned aviation requirements in a UAS geographical zone

A UAS geographical zone may grant exemptions from one or more of the requirements applicable to the “open” category, as set out in Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/947 of 24 May 2019 on the rules and procedures for the operation of unmanned aircraft.

The exemptions that may primarily affect manned aviation concern operations above 120 metres and operations beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS).
